Planning weddings for 2027

Concept visualization: a bride and groom stand together at a candlelit lawn reception above the sea at sunset, facing their initials drawn in points of light over the mountains.
Concept: sunset setting. Shows are scheduled after full dark.

The shared moment

For a moment, everyonelooks up together.

After dinner, your guests gather outside. Music begins, and the first lights appear above the venue.

Personal details shape the show: initials, a favourite image or music you’ve chosen together. We’ll discuss what will read clearly from the guest viewing area.

Concept: guests at a waterfront wedding reception watch a heron formation above the bay, beside a softly lit marquee.
Concept

Shaped around you

No two celebrationsask for the same sky.

Concept: a couple on a moonlit beach beneath a delicate bird formation.

A quiet revelation

A restrained opening that grows into a personal image or gesture.

Concept: a couple celebrates beside an illuminated waterfront venue beneath a colourful butterfly formation.

A playful turn

A colourful butterfly or another playful image gives your guests a surprise to spot in the sky.

Concept: a wedding party celebrates together beneath a wide pink and violet formation.

A sweeping finale

A clear silhouette or burst that gives everyone one moment to remember.

A natural place in the evening

A little sky, at exactlythe right moment.

The show takes place after full dark. In midsummer on Vancouver Island, full dark arrives late. We schedule the show after dinner and speeches or at the end of the reception. We agree the timing with you and your planner.

  1. Dinner
  2. Guests gather at a designated viewing area
  3. The show
  4. The celebration continues

How it works

From first conversationto show night.

  1. Tell us about the day

Your date, your venue and the moment you're imagining. A rough idea is enough.

  2. We look at your venue

We check whether the site can accommodate a show.

  3. You see the idea

A concept for your show, with scope and price, and what happens if the weather turns.

  4. We work with your planner

Timing, music and the details on the day, plus the operating approvals your show needs.

Your venue

Lawn, terraceor shoreline?

Some venues suit a show and some don't. Most of what we need to know is how your evening is laid out, so we start with three questions.

Concept visualization of a coastal wedding venue at dusk. On the left, guests gather on a lawn under string lights. In the middle, an open stretch of empty lawn keeps them well away from the drones. On the right, a grid of drones sits on a launch pad, with the Mount Benson formation drawn in light in the sky above it. Concept, not to scale
  1. Guests watch here
  2. Safe separation
  3. Launch and flight area
  • Where will your guests be when the show starts: the lawn, the terrace, the dock?
  • Is there open space, away from tents, trees and guests, where the show can fly?
  • What do the venue, the neighbours and the local airspace allow after dark?

Questions couples ask

Good to know.

How long is a show?

Shows generally run up to 15 minutes. We shape the length around your celebration, the creative idea and where it fits into your evening.

Can it include our initials or names?

Design options include initials, names and simple images. Show size, the venue and viewing distance determine the level of detail.

Can we choose the music?

We start with the mood and songs you have in mind. Music choices are subject to licensing and technical requirements. Sound delivery and responsibilities are agreed with you and the venue during planning.

What if it rains or the wind picks up?

Outdoor shows depend on the weather. We agree the decision process and contingency terms with you before the day.

How much does a wedding show cost?

Show size, creative scope and the venue determine the cost. Send your date, venue and budget so we can prepare a proposal.

Are you taking weddings for 2027?

We're planning our first season in 2027 and welcome conversations with couples and planners. Availability and feasibility are confirmed for each wedding.

What does our planner or venue need to do?

We lead the show planning. Your planner or venue helps with site permissions, access, guest timing and contacts on the day. Exact responsibilities are agreed early.

Will there be bangs or smoke?

No fireworks, so no explosive bangs, smoke or fallout over your guests. Drones have their own, much quieter sound.
